Overview

From Mountain Village – The Meadows – Lunch @ Gorrono Ranch – Ute Park – Prospect Bowl – Return to Mountain Village

1. Getting Comfortable in The Meadows

Located below the MOUNTAIN VILLAGE, THE MEADOWS is the most accessible, user-friendly area at Telluride. Kids, families and anyone getting their ski legs can find a safe haven here. As the name suggests, it is wide open and very mellow with just over 300 feet of vertical drop.

Start at the top of the Chondola (Lift 1) and follow the lift line down through THE MEADOWS before jumping back on the lift to head back up for more. *Lift 1 is a chair/ gondola hybrid, hence the the name Chondola (1).

When you are feeling comfortable and want to do a longer cruiser, the Village Bypass is a great option. To get there at the top of the Chondola ski over and jump on Village Express (Lift 4). Unload to your left and follow the Village Bypass signs. This run winds its way down past the MOUNTAIN VILLAGE and pops out at the bottom of Chondola (1).

2. Mountain Village for Lunch or Head up to Gorrono Ranch or Down to Big Billie's

Once nice thing about hanging close to MOUNTAIN VILLAGE is that lunch will be easy to find and you'll have no shortage of options. We also recommend dining a little further up the mountain at Gorrono Ranch. You'll be able to spot it easily on your way up the Village Express (4) and can access it by skiing down the Village Bypass. Just make sure not to go flying by it on your way down.

Big Billie's is another option and can be found at the bottom of THE MEADOWS  near the Chondola (1).

3. Find More Variety and Some Challenge in Ute Park and Prospect Bowl

When you are ready to venture further from Mountain Village, Ute Park (11) and PROSPECT BOWL offer more varied terrain while remaining beginner friendly. To get there, jump on the Sunshine Express (10), accessed from the bottom of the Chondola (1). At the top unload to the left and transfer over to the Ute Park (11) where you’ll have a variety of options. Get comfortable in Ute Park, the Beginner Terrain Park or take Little Maude to the Prospect Express (12). Here you can access Madison, Sandia, and Magnolia, all good options with a little more pitch.

The easiest way to get back to the MOUNTAIN VILLAGE is to take Galloping Goose from the top of the Prospect Express (12)Double Cabin and Sundance are a bit steeper but also return to the bottom of the Chondola (1).
