Our Favorite Ski Shops in Park City, Utah

We’ve put together an insider guide on the best shops for gear sales, rentals, fitting and tuning. See below for our favorite places to gear up in Park City and Deer Valley.

Jans Mountain Recreation Experts

(435) 649-4949 |jans.com

Best one stop shop. This is the one shop you need for gear for the resort, the backcountry (through White Pine Touring), or the race course. Their flagship location is on Park Avenue and they have two smaller outposts at Deer Valley's Snow Park Lodge and Silver Lake Lodge.

Jans carries a selection of technical apparel featuring brands like Flylow, Helly Hanson, Outdoor Research, and Patagonia — all at reasonable prices. They have a variety of skis, bindings, and boots, including telemark options. Jans’ rental shop offers skis, snowboards, and boots, as well as jackets and pants. They also offer ski tuning by hand through their Rennstall Ski Tech Center. “Rennstall” means Race Room in German.

Cole Sport

(435) 649-4806 | colesport.com

Best for fashionable apparel and service: Cole Sport is a mecca for high end fashion and top quality ski gear. They are conveniently located with four shops in the area including a large store on Park Avenue, a shop at the base of Park City (Bazooka’s Freeride Shop), a tuning and rental center at the base of Park City, and a full-service shop in Silver Lake, Deer Valley.

Cole Sport has an excellent selection of rentals to custom boot fittings, a well curated selection of skis and snowboards, along with technical to designer brands. Cole Sports' staff is extremely knowledgeable with a keen eye towards fashion and function. You will find designer gear from Bogner, Kjus, Aztech, Frauenschuh, Arc’teryx, Blizzard and Rossingnol. Save 20% by booking rentals online.

For a fast tuning and repair: Cole Sports has another location at the base of Park City, devoted entirely to tuning and repair. Drop your skis off at the end of the day and pick them up the next morning as you hit the slopes. The turn around times are fast and the location can’t be beat.

Gorsuch

Best for mountain chic and custom boot fitting: This high-end, family owned and operated business, with a well known catalog, founded in Vail, now has a Park City outpost on Main Street.

The European mountain aesthetic pervades their separate mens and women’s stores, featuring designer outdoor wear from the likes of Jet Set, Kjus, Frauenschuh, Bogner and Moncler. They also have a proprietary, custom boot fitting technology predicated on a scanner from Germany. Using this technology, they can scan your foot and virtually try on any boot with the ability to make custom adjustments based on unique foot specifications and boot shapes. Non-skiers will enjoy the fashionable mountain gear here as well.

Bootworks

(435) 649-3032 |bootworks.com

Best for bootfitting: You’ve taken a couple of runs and your boots are killing you. You might want to amputate your feet, but hold on! There’s a better option. Head to Bootworks at the base of Park City Mountain Resort. Their expert bootfitters will transform your boot fit and your customized boots will serve you well for a long time.

They can make adjustments in a jiffy, but if you want the whole enchilada, consider Bootworks’ six-step customization process (see insert). The term “expert” is tossed around a lot, but the bootfitters here are truly worthy of this title - they’re kind, understanding, and friendly. Appointments recommended.
