For a livelier scene, head up to the second floor of the Alta Peruvian. Known as "P Dog" by the locals, this is where the off- mountain action happens. Chill with handcrafted cocktails, a large selection of local craft brews, free popcorn and other bar snacks. Live music on Sundays and fun bar games all the time.
Warm colors, dramatic floor to ceiling windows and a central fireplace create a striking ambiance. One of Alta's "crown jewels, this is a perfect setting to relax with drink and admire the beauty of the mountain. The low-key vibe is perfect for making new friends and recounting the day's adventures and planning new ones.
"Frozen in time," this cozy setting is classic Alta, understated elegance. Saddle up by the large windows overlooking the slopes and linger by the fire after a day of floating through the powder. Conveniently located at the base of Alta, catch some sports on TV and have some pre-dinner snacks. Families beware, its 21+.
Opening it's doors in January 2019, the Gulch Pub is Alta's newest après watering hole, located in the newly reconstructed Snow Pine Lodge. Expect light appetizers, a decent burger, and craft cocktails in a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. It's generally quiet here and the views from the balcony are incredible. If you're digging the vibe, you can stick around for upscale dining in Swen's Restaurant.
An Alta institution, this unassuming saloon is a great place to lounge at the Base. It is conveniently located upstairs in the Goldminer's Daughter (GDM) Lodge. There are comfy couches, a fireplace, pool tables and many options for après ski snacks from small bowls of chips to full nacho platters and pizzas. The flatbread pizza is one of our favorites.
