      - 1st Grade - 12 years​ (Kids Clinic)

      - 1st Grade - 17 years (Signature 5 Clinic)

  • Hours: ~9:00AM - 3:00PM (varies by age)

  • Meals: includes snack & lunch

  • Lift tickets: included with KVC Groups; extra charge for all programs for 1st grade and up

  • Equipment: extra for equipment including helmet (required)​

On Mountain Day Care
  • Program: Kids Vacation Center (KVC) Childcare

  • Location: KVC, Lower Level Gondola Building

  • Ages:  6 weeks - 6 years

  • Hours: 8:15AM - 4:00PM (Full Day)

                (call for half day options)

  • Booking policy: book online, 7 days prior

  • Meals: snack & lunch 

  • Rest / Naps: as needed

  • Activities: age-dependent - games, crafts, indoor & outdoor play

  • Ski Option: Available for children 2.5 years+, book separately through KVC ski school, instruction length varies by age, includes lesson and childcare activities 

Private Lessons for Kids
  • Location(s): Main Base, by Desperado Magic Carpet

  • Ages: 2+

  • Lesson Size: 1 - 5 people

  • Level: All-levels, will cater to lowest skill level

  • Hours: Full Day, Half Day and 5 Hour options

      - Full Day: 9AM - 4PM 

      - 5 Hour: 10AM - 3PM

      - Half Day AM: 9AM - 12PM

      - Half Day PM: 1PM - 4PM

      - 1 Hour Early Bird: 8:30AM - 9:30AM

      - 1 Hour - Kids Ages 2 - 4

  • Lift tickets, meals and equipment must be purchased separately

Other Kids Activities 

Ice Skating​ & Bumper Cars

  • Howelsen Ice Complex, Steamboat Springs 

    • Indoor ice skating complex, bumper cars on ice are unique 
       

Old Town Hot Springs

  • 8 pools and two giant water sleds all fed by natural hot springs 

Howelson Hill - skiing and riding somewhere smaller

  • For the youngest skiers and boarders and true beginners, consider a day (or morning) at this small (15 trails and 4 lifts), ski area. Owned and operated by the town of Steamboat Springs, it's the oldest operating mountain in North America. Lift tickets are a fraction the price of Steamboat and free on Sundays!

Group Lessons for Kids

AGE 2.5 - 3.4 - Buckaroos & Palomino Pals

  • Group Size: up to 6 children per class

  • Requirements: potty trained and willing to ski or ride

  • Lesson Focus: introduction to fundamentals, mountain etiquette, gaining confidence, learning to turn and stop

  • Logistics: Drop off and pick up from KVC

AGES 3.5 - 5(K) - Mavericks and Sundance Kids / Bandits

  • Group Size: varies by age, up to 7 children

  • Lesson Focus: Turning, stopping, becoming comfortable on skis, riding the chair lift  and gondola and exploring green and some blue terrain

  • Bandits are group lessons for snowboarding

  • Logistics: Drop off at KVC and pick up on the snow

AGES 6 - 13 - Kids Clinic for Skiers and Snowboarders

  • Group Size: up to 8 children per group

  • Lesson Focus: Skill adjusted, covers basics from turning and stopping to different types of terrain

  • Logistics: Drop off and pick up on the snow

OTHER SPECIAL GROUP LESSONS - YOUTH, TEENS, WOMEN

  • Jackalopes Ski Weeks for age 5 (K) and Kids Ski Weeks for ages 6 - 17 are available during school holidays 

    • Program runs for full 5 days (only option); lunch and lift tickets are included, equipment rentals are additional

    • Includes full day of lessons, race and a bandanna, students have same instuctor for the week​

  • Signature 5 Group Lessons for ages 1st Grade - 17 are available during holidays 

  • Women's Ski Camp for ages 16+ - 3 day camp hosted by Steamboat’s Olympians, Deb Armstrong and Ann Battelle; 

Steamboat's children's lessons and programs at the Kids Vacation Center are conveniently located in Gondola Square
