Just a few steps from the base of Gondola 1, this is one of our favorite spots to grab a beer after a day on the mountain. A seemingly endless selection of beers and a large menu of aprés ski classics awaits. The nachos, pretty much what you dream of for apres ski nachos, are a staple. Portions are generous so come hungry, bring friends or plan for a later dinner. The live music is captivating, the crowd is friendly and you will soon be wondering where the evening went.
At the base of Lionshed, Garfinkels is best on a blue sky day. Relax and unwind on on the patio while watching everyone make their way down the mountain. Close to the Eagle Bahn Gondola, its very easy to access. Classic sports bar feel inside. The beer selection is great, though food is average, so have a drink, watch some sports, watch some people and enjoy.
Midway between Vail Village and Lionshead, this bar is worth the trek when looking to relax and indulge. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, sit inside and warm up by the fireplace while looking out the floor to ceiling windows. Or enjoy outdoor seating with fire pits (come early as this seating is limited). Family friendly and serves delicious hot chocolate.
Looking to enjoy live music and hang out late night in Vail, this is the spot! Shakedown features a house band and local owner, Scott Rednor, brings in talented artists from all around Colorado and sometimes the nation. The intimate setting, outstanding acoustics, talented musicians and resonably priced drinks keep locals and tourists alike coming back for more.
Ice cream is a must for our kids after skiing. Sundae came to Vail in 2016 and is a wonderful addition to the apres ski scene. The ice cream is homemade, all natrual and comes in selection of staple flavors, sorbets and special rotating selections like salted cookies and cream, blackberry lavender and cheese cake. Wide selection of toppings. Enjoy in a cup, waffle cone or shake. This charming, cozy shop is near the transportation center.
If a day on the slopes is not enough, this club will allow you to get your fix. This mega facility has over 50 group fitness options each week. Yoga, TRX training, climbing, barre and cycling are some of the highlights. Run at altitude, strength train and then enjoy the steamroom and hot tub. The club has many convenient ways to access - offering daily passes, punch packs of 5, 10 or 35 sessions and monthly memberships. It also partners with some of the neighboring hotels.
