Avery is a freelance copywriter, illustrator, and marketing specialist with a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from Carleton University and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education & Communication from Royal Roads University. Fuelled by two passions, writing and playing outside, her goal is to help others explore the outdoors and develop a deeper connection with nature through helpful blogs and thoughtful pieces of content.

She has been working in Communications in the ski industry since 2016. She started her career at Big White Ski Resort, British Columbia, where she met her fiancé (an Aussie who loves the snow just as much as she does). Since then, she has been lucky enough to road trip, ski, and explore most of Western Canada - from the waist-deep powder of interior B.C. to the steep drops of Alberta’s Canadian Rockies.

Most recently, she has worked as a Marketing & Media Specialist for SkiBig3 in Banff, Alberta.

You can usually find her making new friends on the chairlift, cycling and sketching wildflowers, or rolling out her yoga mat at a cozy, local studio.
