Just across the bridge from the River Run Gondola, this is an easy spot for a beer or bite before heading out. Large selection of beer and bar food - think appetizers, burgers, tacos. Reasonable prices for this setting and be sure to take advantage of the daily happy hour. Good for large groups and familes (they have hot coco). Bask in the sun on the outdoor patio with views of the River Run side.
Last Lift Bar | Mountain House Village
This is the spot on the Mountain House side of the Village. Situated on top of the lodge, there is live music or DJs starting around 8PM on weekends. The upper level patio provides the sun and views of the Peru Lift and Go Devil.
Cocktails & Relaxation
Bighorn Bistro & Bar | Lakeside Village
Quiet, fine dining above Keystone Lake (skating rink) in the Keystone Lodge & Spa. An easy drive or shuttle ride from the Base, come here to enjoy locally sourced seasonal offerings. Come for happy hour, starting daily at 3pm and stay for awhile - live music, and plenty of TVs to catch March Madness. Overall, a great set up for some spring break relaxation.
Grab a Beer & Watch Sports
9820' Tap House | River Run Village
A location play, 9820' is adjacent to the Summit Express/River Run Gondola. You pretty much can't leave without going by. Stop in for a beer or quick bite, and catch up on the day's sports. The mountain facing outdoor fireplace patio fills up quickly, but you will be rewarded with great people (and ski patrol dog) watching.
For the Family
The Snack Shack | River Run Village
Kids will marvel at the choice of ice cream, self-serve fro-yo, candy and hot chocolate. Close to the lifts and the River Run Village fire pit, this is the perfect spot to reward ski schoolers or to grab dessert before watching the fireworks (starting at 7PM, daily) on Dercum Mountain The hot dogs, brats, & empanadas also make for a quick lunch before grabbing the lifts.
Fondue @ 11,000 ft
Der Fondue Chessel | The Outpost
If you can handle the night time gondola ride at 11,000 ft, the fondue dinner at The Outpost is worth the trek (keep an eye out for wildlife and snowcats). The four course meal is served in the fondue and raclette style (including chocolate fondue). Set in a Bavarian-style beer hall equipped with live music, its one to remember. Reservations required - make them here.
