Ski Blogger

Jack Benham is a freelance writer based in San Francisco. He is part of the marketing team at Martin Ray Winery in Sonoma County, writes poetry, and has been hacking at a novel for the past five years.

Jack grew up in Mill Valley, CA in a ski-addicted family and started skiing when he was four. He really learned to ski when his dad took him and his twin brother to the top of Mammoth and pushed them over the cornice of Cornice Bowl. He attended Colorado College and majored in English, skiing throughout. He wrote for The Sheet News from May 2018 - May 2019. During the winter, Jack spends as much time as he can in the mountains. In 2020, it was a ski lease in Lake Tahoe. In 2021, it’s Big Sky, bookended by road trips through the Rockies.

In his dreams Jack skies like a combination of Eric Hjorleifson, Candide Thovex, and Mikaela Shiffrin, yet he always wakes up disappointed!
